| The Appraisal Institute (Institute) is an international
organization of professional real estate appraisers; it has over 21,000
members in 99 chapters. The Institute provides support and
advice to the appraisal profession through additional education and
standards of professional practice and ethics.
The Institute provides designations to individual appraisers who complete a curriculum they set forth. In addition, the Institute was an active participant in the recent increase in the basic requirements put forth by the Appraisal Foundation and in other changes that continue to improve the profession. Designated members are required to maintain 100 hours of training in a continuous 5-year trial; this is a higher standard than the State of Florida presently requires of its Certified Residential and General appraisers. King Arthur Valuation Services, LLC requires that all of the appraisers and trainees obtain and maintain either associate or designated membership with the Appraisal Institute within their first year of association While King Arthur Valuation Services would like to help everyone, we are not presently certified outside the State of Florida.
